for all the gear geeks out there:  i just got a couple of these custom supro amps made for me by my good friend bruce zinky (formerly of fender amps).  these things are bomb!  the jer coons signature amp: hand-screened grille cloth, jensen neo 1x10 speaker, one volume knob, one tone knob.  there’s a single 12ax7a for the preamp, and a 6L6 tube for the power.  i get all my distortion sounds from pedals, so i had him build me a custom lightbulb compressor circuit (as the power section gets louder, the preamp gets quieter) so the amp itself doesn’t distort.  i’ve never heard anything like it.  super portable, loud as hell and endlessly clean.  i’ll be running these guys in stereo at shows from here on out.  thanks, zinky!
